Beautifully restored interiors add charm to the hotel.

The air conditioning in the room was not functioning properly, leaving us uncomfortable during our stay. We reached out to the staff for assistance, but their response was unhelpful and frustrating. Additionally, the restaurant’s buffet was underwhelming, lacking variety and quality.

the overall design of this hotel is charming, but, guess what? they clearly forgot about air conditioning! our room reeked of heat rather than comfort. and to top it off, the indoor pool. let’s just say the water needed a little warmth! I almost thought about leaving a good review, but who can with such neglect?

I was absolutely amazed by the elegant restoration of this historical building, maintaining its original charm while offering modern amenities. My room, a Junior Suite, was spacious with a comfortable 7-foot wide bed, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The breakfast was a highlight, with an extensive spread that included a chef-attended omelette station and a variety of hot and cold options, setting a wonderful tone for the day.

During my stay, I enjoyed the stunning views and beautiful gardens surrounding the property. The cleanliness of my room was impressive, and the breakfast spread was fantastic, exceeding my expectations with both hot and cold options. I also appreciated the convenient proximity to attractions like the Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral and the Pelourinho de Elvas, which were just a short walk away.

the swimming pool was a blast for the kids, very spacious and clean room. no irons in the room was a bummer for us.

I particularly enjoyed the well-equipped gym and the soothing amenities of the spa, which added a perfect touch of relaxation during my stay. The daily breakfast spread was a true highlight, with freshly cooked options and a variety that catered to all tastes, one morning I even enjoyed a meal with a stunning view from the rooftop terrace.

The parking situation was somewhat inconvenient although secure, as it had limited spaces available.

we had an amazing time celebrating a wedding at vila gale. the spacious and clean room exceeded our expectations and the pools and spa were perfect for relaxing. the friendly staff brought a cake for our child's birthday, making our stay even more special!
